  The Yorkshire Earthquake
« on: December 08, 2009, 04:56:51 AM » by JOE FEARN
The Yorkshire Earthquake.

A second after

the quake hit

I perceived
two things at once:

I was writing the carefully considered
autobiography My Tedious Life

and my books on the shelf
hit
the
ground
like
dung
from
a
giraffe.

Would I be right in thinking that the defaectory process of giraffes, other than when they have diarheoah or are 'loose', would involve a continuous extrusion?  If so, your simile to their dung being library-book-like would be eroneous.
If it's the case, however, that you have analysed or witnessed the bowel movement of a giraffe, I apologise

Now I think about it more, and assuming giraffe's are vegetarian, I see what you mean in that they would shit like a horse; that sort of plup, plup, plup in smallish dunglets very much like falling library books unlike a cow

I remember that Yorkshire earthquake.

I enjoyed this.  Tis a good metaphor.  How's the autobio coming along?

You said something about shitting yourself the other night Peter....did it drop like giraffe shite, or was it a bit like a cow's?

I've visited Keighley too many times and know that this is true!

Thanks Sue.
