one kinda man
he go 'head
dance without ya

nutha man who
he don't want to
but he do it

an' a man who
it don't matter
he don't dance

which kinda man
ya in de mood fo'
sugar bucket

 ya wanna man
 don't ask no
 stupid questions

 I ain't
 dat kinda man

 ain't nevuh met
 dat kinda man

 an' look like
 you ain't met him
 neither

 sugar bucket

wanna man
who ain't no
smart ass

he don't call ya
sugar bucket

justa plain
ole man

de kind
he put his
hand out

an' jus'
a'ks ya

wanna dance
wi' me

Thanks for looking again. I have trouble because I want so much to be left off the page, in the pauses; at the same time, I have the voices and inflections so vividly in my own ear; it's hard to guess what you will hear.

almost all of us overdo that part regularly.
that said, i guess it's one of poetry's defining features, all that empty space both typographically and otherwise
