John Yamrus has been nominated for the Pushcart prize for the FOURTH year in a row!

If you want to know why then check out his new book. It's crackerjack.

Is Pushcart an American word?  I've never heard of it before I don't think.  Is it  like a shopping trolley or pram sort of thing?

Yes! A pushcart can be a trolley or a float - not a pram - in ye olden days it might have been a wooden vehicle that a human pushed rather than having it pulled by an animal.

The Pushcart prize is a prestigious prize given by Pushcart Press.

if John wins and gets legless drunk, he'll be able to push himself home on his own prize

vendors use pushcarts to transport and display their wares. why they push and not pull them I don't know but that seems to be the custom.
