the stranger its speaking.

So strange when it's
walked outside of land
the things it says to waves
should not be known.

It was wind in savannah
that said to the ape
stand up
bringing the smell of lion
and the start of human.

Rick, I'm only slightly familiar with the Amish and ways of Amish, but I really like what you have going here with 'strange' (thought about ghostly whispers, myself) and ideas in the wind.

I'm not sure what the title and the poem are doing together.  First came the title, then, right after, the poem.  If there is such an actual place in Nebraska, it isn't there because I chose to write about it.  This one's more mysterious to me than most poems I get.

was wondering why you gave that title when you talk of winds & evolution - was going to ask what's the connection - it seems it's just as mysterious to you!

like the way you bring in the wind, the ape, the lion, the human, the cat & dog - in the story of evolution - more mysterious!

an intriguing read love the closing lines:

This is one of those poems that didn't tell me where it was going before it got there.  I like when that happens.  It feels as if I am partnering with something bigger than my own little life.
