I like the sound of it, and the way the lines slow it down and make it waver in the air.

Rick's fifth book is out: Gizmo--love, loss and the passion to know--in the first part of the last century.

Dear SL, a most beautiful stream of thought and wisdom.... would that i could take root and remain gazing...
Somewhat with Tom on contrabass, which (even to my music-book-filled-miind) feels museum-y.... Would you consider the humble "double bass"?

Tell you what my poetry prof would tell me......too many unrelated images. Got instruments, bamboo, roles of pennies, wars..... It sounds delicious, but seems a bit disconnected to me.
Thank you. d

dear Kevin
i could of course live with a "double bass"
and while not wanting to be a museum-y type ....
let me ask
does "contrabass" speak not of many types of instruments ? of lower register ?
looking forward to hearing back from you and anyone else who wishes to chirp in too !

dear Desi
i am glad that that pieces of imagery were quite edible
yet that the puzzle did not fall into place for you.
abstract painting is indeed far from a still life.
your professor would have hated me
and i would have smiled
always glad to have your thoughtful eye pass by
many many thankyuus

This is fine, SL, though I also have a problem with a contrabass having nooky with a clarinet.
Cheers

dear Milner
i have to be very very honest with you
and never saw this imagery in this way.....
was just listening to the music.
thanks for showing me that there are other things going on for some readers.
