According to some polls here, Tiko, a majority are in favour of bringing back the death penalty for extreme crimes. The politicians, however, of all major parties, have resisted, and that is to their credit, in my view.

Nobody claims that any human system of justice is infallible. Even if capital punishment were believed to have some beneficial outcome, to tell that mistakenly sentenced person, "your life is forfeit as collateral damage to achieve these other ends"...is human sacrifice.

Even tho, in my mind, there's no way this wrong could be righted, the state could at least offer his family what they would've had if not wronged, monetarily.

Tiko, I love ya ta death, but this scripture has nothing to do with murder or apologies. Casting stones is about being critical. These people were casting stones at a harlot, when they themselves were self-righteous.
