thanks

any one else wish to share about their microphone preferences ?

i am using Apple computers ,
so i am going to experiment recording with garageband
to start off with on my own......

until i get a chance to go to Nashville to learn how to do it properly from
a friend who is a song writer composer. my trip in june got cancelled
due to the floods

Actually, I started out using an inexpensive mic from the computer store and found there was too much background noise for some things, but for reading some poetry, I liked the background hum.

When I want real quiet, I use the headset I have for use with Skype.  The mic picks up much less noise and I like having my ears 'segregated' from what's going on in the house. Helps me concentrate on the reading.

It was not expensive either.

These Sure mics are pretty good. Match those up with Audacity, and you have an instant podcasting solution. And if you end up with a podcast you'd like to distribute, let us know, and we'll host it on PoetryCircle.
