Love it....any chance it can make the move to submit?

I think that the two words "exhibition" & "mantel" make the piece along with the visual - the title is well placed too

Goodness, I must be a real dummy.  I don't understand what you're saying.  Everyone else does though, and that's really all that matters.

Just saying don't muses don't go through the looking glass... That whole real vs. unreal thing again. Thanks, C.

I though it was the other way round, Tom? Cheers

The first image I got was of a giddy, mischievious statue having a romp off the foot (of the pedestal).

Second image was one of laziness or, maybe, not living up to one's potential - staying by the fire and watching something instead of going out, fx.

The title meshed the two images perfectly for me.

Lovely, Doris. Your writing is always a rewarding challenge.

Thanks,
Ginny

Who knows, it could be something just like this that brings it.

Muses don't go through the looking glass.  Interesting.  Never thought about that regarding feet.  And a toe for a muse?  I think I'd tell him/her to keep walking.

Glad to see this in submit, Doris.  It's a good poem.
