May I be excused? I really don't want dessert.
The meal was appreciated but I am no longer hungry.
You wish me to stay at the table? I'd rather not;
I don't care to observe the conclusion of all of your meals.
I'd like to go into the other room. Sit in a leather chair
And read in one sitting an Agatha Christie novel, then murmur
Goodnight to nobody, go to my rented room, get my jacket,
Come down the stairs and leave through those French doors
Forever. Stay seated, all of you. Enjoy each other's company.
But for me Life is no longer a Wodehouse comedy.
