  The Sacred and The Profane
« on: August 30, 2010, 07:49:42 PM » by Buddah_Moskowitz
When I write about
the grandeur, the mystery
the infinite grace of God,
I get few, if any, comments.

When I write about
the miscreant misadventures
of trying to feed
my aberrant, twisted penis,
these poems are very popular,

which just goes to prove
the writer’s first rule:

write about

what
you
know.

Have run over the first stanza a few times, Buddha.

Some thoughts. Maggie

When I write about
the grandeur of God,
His mystery and infinite
grace, I get few, if any,
comments.

When I write about
the miscreant misadventures
of trying to feed
my aberrant, twisted penis,
these poems are very popular,

which just goes to prove
the writer’s first rule:

write about

what
you
know.

could this:

which just goes to prove
the writer’s first rule:

be shortened to:

which proves
the writer's first rule
?

Hi Maggie and Tiko (et.al.)

Thanks for your thoughts on the re-write / re-structure.  You may be right, as my instincts tend to be more toward the stand-up comic than then poet, it's hard to resist a punchline.

Thanks again- Moskowitz
