dear Tom

yes indeed there is the Atlantic on Block Island that you mentioned

http://www.atlanticinn.com/

my connection on Block Island is Lisa Starr
with whom i teach some poetry workshops, as we are members of a group called Power To The Poets
.....that go to prisons, nursing homes, the institute for non violence, homeless shelters .....etc etc etc around rhode island......

Lisa has a B&B on the island   http://www.thehygeiahouse.com/
and organizes some wonderful poetry events.
She is also the present Poet Laureate of RI

http://www.bipoetryproject.com/

So my last few days there were quite nice and participated in two readings along with about
fourteen poets from Block Island and around Rhode Island.

dear Tiko

my apologies for the delay in replying to your kind comment.

the focus at the moment is on the Street Sights poetry contest
where i have been asked again this year to be one of the judges for
the pens of so many homeless in Rhode Island.

The submissions this year have come as well from outside of the united states.

Every month the newspaper presents creative works
http://www.streetsights.org/category/creative
and once a year there is a contest open
to the homeless everywhere.

The results of this years contest will be announced on October 8,2010
in Providence RI.
